Following on from another successful Print2Parliament!, the industry showcase of the National Print Awards Gold winners, the senior Cabinet member in Federal Government, Greg Hunt MP, Minister for Health and Minister Assisting the Prime Minister for the Public Service and Cabinet, visited Chapel Press in Somerville VIC.
Minister Hunt has been advocating for tax and energy relief for SMEs and particularly printers, following representations made to him by PVCA, and he wanted to personally congratulate Russell Fray and his team on a stellar performance through the 2019 industry awards program.
During the visit, the Minister took a great interest in the makeup of our industry and particularly in our industry’s investment in apprentices and apprenticeship training. The PVCA is delighted at the increasing profile our industry has with Members of Parliament following on from two successful Print2Parliament! events.
Says Andrew Macaulay, CEO of the PVCA “We had expected, and are pleased to facilitate the ongoing dialogue between Members of Parliament and the printers in their electorates. MP’s are listening to our members in regards to the challenges faced by the print, packaging and visual communication industry” he added “We continue our open dialogue with the federal and state governments to ensure a consistent understanding of the complexity of our industry, which absolutely falls within Advanced Manufacturing”
